How to Add a Video to Your Zillow Listing (and What Zillow Allows)
Does Zillow allow video? Yes, but how depends on the listing type. Here is how video gets onto Showcase and standard Zillow listings, who can upload Showcase video, the 120-second limit, and how to prepare a clean file.
Short answer: Zillow does show video, but the way it gets there depends on the kind of listing you have. On Zillow Showcase, the video has to come from the same photographer who shot the listing's other media, run no longer than 120 seconds, and be uploaded through Aryeo. Standard listings usually show video through the virtual tour link your MLS sends to Zillow. In both cases Zillow wants the video to be about the property.
Rules change and differ by market, so treat this guide as a starting point and confirm the current details with Zillow and your MLS before you export.
Does Zillow allow video?
Yes. What varies is the route:
| Listing type | How video gets on Zillow | Where it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Zillow Showcase | The photographer who supplied the listing's other media uploads the video through Aryeo, then you select it in the Showcase editor and turn on "Show video in carousel" | Second item in the photo carousel, autoplaying muted. One video shows at a time |
| Standard listing from your MLS | Usually the unbranded virtual tour or video link you enter in your MLS, which the MLS feed passes to Zillow | Usually as a tour or video link, not inside the photo carousel. Display varies by MLS |
| Your own Zillow agent tools | Some accounts see an option to add video directly. Availability depends on account and listing type | Varies |
If you do not see a video option in your dashboard, the MLS virtual tour field is the dependable path.
What Zillow Showcase requires
Per Zillow's Showcase editing guide, a Showcase video has to meet all of these, not just one:
- Same photographer. The video must be produced by the photographer who provided the listing's other media.
- 120 seconds or less.
- Uploaded through Aryeo by that media provider, the same way the photos arrive. You then pick it in the Showcase editor.
- No persistent agent or brokerage logos, watermarks or advertising. Personal branding, such as you introducing yourself on camera, is allowed.
- About the property. The video must be relevant to the listing and mainly focused on the home. Videos that break the rules can be flagged or removed.
- Showcase Product Terms. The video also has to follow those terms, which your media provider receives.
Zillow's guide does not state orientation, file format or file size for Showcase video; your photographer can check those on Zillow's Aryeo site. If the same file is also going to your MLS, check that MLS's length and orientation rules too.
A simple way to prepare the file
- Make two versions. Keep a branded version for Instagram, TikTok and your website. Make an unbranded version for your MLS virtual tour field.
- Check the length and size against what your MLS currently accepts. For Showcase, also keep it to 120 seconds.
- Upload or link it.
- Showcase: this goes through the photographer who shot the listing, via Aryeo. A video you made yourself does not qualify on its own.
- Standard listing: host it somewhere unbranded and put that link in your MLS virtual tour field.
- Open the live listing on Zillow a day later and make sure the video or tour link appears.
How ListDolly fits
ListDolly turns your listing photos into vertical reels with real camera moves. Every listing includes an MLS version: the same reel with your branding removed, for MLS virtual tour fields that ask for unbranded media. The required AI-generated label stays on. Use the branded version for social media and the unbranded one for your listing feeds.
Removing branding is only one of Showcase's conditions, so an unbranded ListDolly reel is not guaranteed to qualify for Zillow Showcase. Showcase video has to come from the listing's photographer through Aryeo. If you want a ListDolly reel there, ask your photographer and confirm it against Zillow's current terms.
Upload your listing photos to make your first reels. Planning is free, and you only use a listing when you generate. See pricing.
FAQ
Can I add a YouTube link to Zillow? Often yes, through your MLS virtual tour field, as long as your MLS accepts YouTube links. Some MLSs reject YouTube because its pages show other promotional content. Check your MLS rules.
Why isn't my video showing on Zillow? The most common reasons:
- the MLS field was left empty;
- the link points to a branded page;
- the MLS feed has not refreshed yet;
- the listing type doesn't support the display you expected.
Can I use a vertical video? Zillow's Showcase guide does not specify orientation, so ask your photographer to confirm on Zillow's Aryeo site. For the MLS route, follow your MLS's guidance.
Can I upload my own video to Showcase? Not directly. Zillow requires Showcase video to come from the photographer who provided the listing's other media, uploaded through Aryeo.
